Staff of Axiom Environmental, Inc. (John Dorney and Sandy Smith) and the NC Department of Transportation (LeiLani Paugh) will conduct a 4-day course organized by the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NC AEP) on the latest version (Version 5) of the North Carolina Wetland Assessment Method (NC WAM) for determining the condition of wetlands from Dec 6-9, 2022 in and near Raleigh, NC.

This lecture and field course will focus on the method, which is the standard method formally adopted by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District in their Public Notice dated April 21, 2015 and is the standard method for wetland assessment used in NC.  The authors were part of a multi-agency team of state and federal agencies who developed the method over the past several years and have previously taught this course using the same curriculum.  The course will be taught in the first-floor auditorium of the NCDOT Highway Building at 1 South Wilmington Street across the street from the southeast side of the Capitol.

The fee for the course is $770 for members of the NCAEP and $795 for non-members and includes lecture and field instruction, a copy of the most current NC WAM User Manual, field drinks and snacks, as well as field lunches.
