NAEP-SC is happy to announce the next Lunch & Learn on May 19, 2023: Environmental Justice in SC (see attached). Shane Belcher, FHWA Lead Environmental Specialist, and Chad Long, SCDOT’s Director of Environmental Services, will be teaming up to speak about EJ and how it relates to transportation infrastructure across the state. Topics include:

• What role does EJ play in transportation?
• What are the EJ requirements?
• What are the elements of an EJ Analysis?
• What has SCDOT been doing for EJ compliance?
• How is SCDOT adapting to recent changes in EJ?
• What are the challenges and some recent project examples?
