In addition to serving on the NAEP Board, Mark currently serves as an elected member of the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Board Certified Environmental Professionals (ABCEP) as President Elect.  His background is in managing and conducting environmental compliance, NEPA, natural resource, noise and vibration and geographic information services (GIS) related to the transportation, electric power, gas transmission, telecommunications, mining, and natural resources markets. 

He has 19 years of experience in the West, particularly Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Mr. Gerber specializes in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) management, documentation and permitting and Environmental Conflict Resolution. He is experienced in Environmental Assessment (EA) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) management and coordination, as well as Endangered Species Act (ESA), sections 7 and 10 and various state and local statutes. He has completed numerous stormwater plans and is highly experienced in developing stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP). Mr. Gerber is expert at conducting traffic noise modeling using TNM 2.5 and in mitigation analysis for transportation related noise. He is also expert in conducting transit noise and vibration modeling using FTA’s noise and vibration modeling techniques. Mr. Gerber is experienced in wetland delineation and wetland habitat assessment and in writing Biological Assessments and Biological Evaluations under the ESA. He has extensive experience in formal consultation under Section 7 of the ESA, as well as conferencing with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He is an expert at performing compliance inspection contractor (CIC) work and construction compliance monitoring. He has wide-ranging experience using differential GPS/GIS in natural resource diversity mapping and species distribution analysis. He was the technical/programming lead and project engineer in the development of TAMIS (Transmission Asset Management Information System), transmission line/structure maintenance software that was developed to assist in environmental and asset tracking by large utilities.
