NAEP Conference and Training Symposium Canceled

FAQs | Resources

Dear NAEP Members,

We hope you and those close to you are safe and well.

As you may have anticipated, NAEP has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Conference and Training Symposium scheduled for May 18–21 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are truly thankful to everyone who put in great efforts for this event, including committee members, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and more. While we are disappointed to miss the education, networking, and science that are hallmarks of our Annual Conference and Training Symposium, we know we are making the best decision we can amid great uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic.

While we hoped to make an announcement on the status of our conference sooner, extended venue negotiations were necessary in order to reach an agreement that was in the best interest of NAEP and our attendees. We are pleased to announce that we will plan to hold our 2022 Conference in Fort Lauderdale, and have been working hard behind the scenes to provide you with exciting virtual opportunities in lieu of our in-person conference this year. We will continue to announce details as they are confirmed.

Registration Refunds

We will be refunding all registered conference attendees their full amount to their original payment method. We appreciate your patience as refunds may take up to a few weeks. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund is complete.

Please note, NAEP is not applying this year’s payments toward next year’s conference due to accounting practices and restrictions.

If you have previously requested to cancel your registration, you are in the refund queue and do not need to confirm your cancellation. We will also be working with The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort to cancel all sleeping room reservations with no penalty, so there is no need to contact the hotel.

We Appreciate Your Generous Support of NAEP

The NAEP Conference and Training Symposium is the primary source of annual revenue for NAEP, and canceling the 2020 NAEP Conference and Training Symposium has created a situation of severe financial circumstances for our organization. If you would like to support NAEP in advancing our mission, please consider donating a portion or the entirety of your registration investment as a charitable contribution.

NAEP is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided by the organization in return for this contribution.

Please indicate your preference for donation by May 15. Send us an email that details either a full or partial donation of your registration fees (please indicate the amount if allowing a partial donation). If no preference is indicated, your registration will be refunded in full following May 15.

Please allow up to a few weeks for refunds to take place, as we will be working through a high volume of requests.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact the office at [email protected]. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you in person in Arizona for our 2021 Conference and collaborating together virtually until then. Thank you for your patience, consideration, and support of NAEP.

Stay safe and healthy,
