Women+ in STEM in Environmental ProfessionsNetworking session sponsored by
The Women+ in STEM networking serves as a place for women to meet each other, discuss important and pressing topics, find mentors, and build relationships that will help them navigate their career paths. The Women in STEM initiative began with the TBAEP local chapter of FAEP as an annual workshop. At the 2020 NAEP Conference, a panel session summarized the accomplishments of the TBAEP group, provided a Q&A session, and hosted a pilot networking event. Future events and mentoring opportunities will be managed by the NAEP Leadership Committee. These networking sessions provide a platform for women to have an open discussion on various topics, such as different challenges women face in the workplace. We are “Women +”, meaning we welcome anyone from underrepresented groups in environmental and stem fields including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC to attend and participate in the mentor match-up efforts. To improve our ties as Women+ we are trying out a mentor interest form. Please add your name to this list and we will do our best to connect you post-conference. Stay tuned to the NAEP LinkedIn page for updates on this. Mentor/Mentee Interest FormThank you to our committee! Laura Thorne [email protected] |
