It's Complicated: Bringing Water to Elmore County

Presented by: Keri Hill, Senior Project Manager at Panorama Environmental

Webinar login information will be sent upon registration. This presentation is free to Idaho AEP members.

Elmore County is 6th largest county in Idaho and home to the Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB). The City of Mountain Home and surrounding areas provide critical infrastructure to support the MHAFB, a $1-billion annual economic input to the State of Idaho. However, the entire Mountain Home area relies on groundwater for all potable uses and for a significant portion of agriculture uses. In some areas the water is declining 5-feet per year. While home to Anderson Ranch and Arrowrock Reservoirs, water is in extremely short supply to such a unique and important Idaho community.

In this webinar, Keri Hill discuss why tens of millions of State and Federal dollars are being spent in Elmore County on water. From the Anderson Ranch 6-foot Dam Raise, the MHAFB Sustainable Water Supply Project, and the South Fork Boise River Diversion Project - a lot of big projects are proposed, how are they all interrelated and why should every Idahoan care.
