NAEP Government Employee Support
Dear NAEP Members,
Have you or one of your colleagues been affected by the recent government workforce downsizing? NAEP is working on ways to help support affected environmental professionals during this tumultuous time. Our organization stands firmly with you, and to implement that support, NAEP has formed a team focused on developing and taking actions to help those members affected. Three of the initial actions we plan to implement over the next couple of months are described below.
Free Webinar - Private Sector Experience | June 11, 2025 | 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT
Not sure about entering the private sector? Have you only ever worked for the government? We are assembling a panel of seasoned professionals from environmental consulting, NGOs, and the industrial sector to talk about their experiences in the private sector, with a focus on transitioning from government positions. The Federal Employee Transition Webinar will allow attendees to ask questions and dispel any mysteries or myths related to private sector environmental employment. This webinar was free and took place on June 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT.
Virtual Job Fair - Ask Me Anything YouTube Event
Are you actively looking for a new job? We will be hosting a live YouTube event, where employers will provide a short overview of their companies and provide links to attendees for open positions. Attendees can ask questions and connect with employers looking to hire.

LinkedIn Open for Opportunity
NAEP will be making a LinkedIn post intended to create a simple way to potentially reach our more than 6,000 followers and let them know you are open to new employment opportunities. Add a comment to the post so that others know you are looking for a new position and can easily check out your profile and reach out.
We are also developing a member survey to better understand how NAEP can help. Please respond to the survey when it is released, and in the meantime, we encourage you to reach out with any concerns or suggestions as to how we can better support you and others during this time. Members are also encouraged to check out the NAEP Career Center. If you currently work for an employer that has open positions, please consider posting relevant positions to the NAEP job list.

Together, we will continue to advance our profession and uphold the highest standards of excellence.
Thank you for your dedication to and resilience in our communities and practices.
Sincerely,
Dennis Peters NAEP President
